Privacy Policy Notice

The management, staff and officials of COMTRUST Federal Credit Union recognize the need to keep sensitive information secure and confidential for all of our members, joint account owners and beneficiaries. We are committed to protecting your privacy. We believe that all personal and financial information specific to you that you provide to us through any means constitutes personal information. The following privacy statement is provided to help you understand how your personal information will be treated.

COMTRUST Federal Credit Union will collect only the personal information necessary to conduct our business. This means just what is necessary to provide competitive financial products and services – and no more. We may collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:


Information we receive from you on applications and other forms.

Information about your transactions with us or with others.

Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.

Information obtained while verifying the information you provided on an application, such as from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions.


COMTRUST Federal Credit Union will protect your personal information. We will maintain strong security controls to ensure that member information in our files and computers is protected. Where appropriate, we will use security-coding techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, to ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and to protect member confidentiality.

Information we share about you. We share information about you with third parties as allowed or required by law. Such times include:


Reporting our transaction experiences with you to credit reporting services.

Disclosing information if we receive a lawfully issued subpoena.

Disclosing information to our credit card payment processors, bill payment vendors, and other similar entities.

Disclosing information about you when we need to do so to conduct a transaction that you request or if you give your permission.


How we protect your information. All COMTRUST staff and volunteers are trained to keep your personal information confidential. We maintain secure premises and up-to-date security features on our on-line systems. If we disclose information about you to third parties for the purposes of providing or marketing our products or services, we require those parties to sign agreements that they will keep your information confidential. Those third parties will disclose information about you only with your permission, as required by law, or as necessary to provide products or services that you request.

COMTRUST Federal Credit Union does not sell or provide information to mailing lists. Occasionally, third party companies will be provided basic information in order to make special offers to members. This information is provided only to offer a broader array of products and services and is only provided to organizations that follow strict confidentiality requirements. No confidential account or personal information is released to these or any other third parties, except where we believe it to be required by law.

COMTRUST Federal Credit Union will only partner with businesses that follow strict confidentiality. The businesses we select will offer products designed to enhance our members’ economic well being. Under no circumstances will we allow these firms to charge your account without your written authorization, and we will not sell member information to telemarketing firms or to any other business.

Disclosure of information about former members. If you terminate your membership with COMTRUST Federal Credit Union, we will not share information that we have collected from you, except as permitted or required by law.

What members can do to help. COMTRUST Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of its members and customers. You can help by following these simple guidelines:


Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PINS (personal identification numbers) and passwords. Never keep your PIN with your debit or credit card which can provide free access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen.

Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security numbers, etc. to other persons.

Keep your information current. It is important that we have current information on how to reach you. If we detect potentially fraudulent or unauthorized activity or use of any account, we will attempt to contact you immediately. If your address or phone number changes, please let us know.
